I do not know who will remember me or recognize me around here, but since 2010 I have gone under the name the Rainmaker beginning with my video handicapping excerpts on Donbest

I do all the match previews on Diamond Sportsbook for MLS, Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, English Premier League and German Bundesliga, as well as Champions League when group stage starts.

Have been there for 2 years now, and since I remembered my ID here, I logged in, and will share my previews here if they are welcomed.

The San Jose Earthquakes have fallen to sixth in the Western Conference standings and, with two straight losses in tow, a trip to Los Angeles will not make it any easier to break out of the funk. We are now seeing how important Chris Wondolowski is to this Quakes team, as his absence for international duty with the U.S National Team is taking its toll.
San Jose has lost all four of their July games in all competitions, which includes two MLS games, the U.S Open Cup, with the fourth coming just days ago to Mexican side Club América in the International Champions Cup. San Jose has only scored one goal over that span, and has been held to three clean sheets, as this Quakes roster simply does not have the talent without Wondolowski to compete on any level with any club. Simple as that.

There is no need to sugarcoat it and there is nothing else to say, because it is that obvious that San Jose needs to bring in other players over the summer transfer window if they want to make the MLS playoffs this season.

The road ahead is not going to ease the tension for Coach Dominic Kinnear, as they will be facing a friendly with Manchester Unitedon Tuesday the 21st, while making a trip to first place Vancouver next Sunday.

Home is where the heart is, and the Galaxy has been rude hosts this season at StubHub Center. Los Angeles has earned 26 of their 31 points this season at home, having the best record in all of MLS with an 8 - 1 - 2 record.

Their dominance at home stretches back to July, 2014, as the Galaxy has one loss in the calendar year spanning 25 games in all competitions, which came at the hands of Vancouver this past June.

The Galaxy might be overlooking a sorry San Jose club, as mighty Barcelona will be in townon Tuesday and the two meet in the International Champions Cup at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. A crowd of over 90,000 is expected to fill the historic venue, and tickets sold out as quickly as you would expect it to.

The Galaxy called the Rose Bowl home for their first seven years in MLS, and it is the only stadium on planet earth to host a Men's and Women's World Cup final, as well as an Olympic Gold Medal final in 1984.

Quick Analysis & Prediction

Quick Analysis:

As mentioned, the Galaxy may be overlooking this match while preparing for a big match at the Rose Bowl with Barca, and why wouldn't they? San Jose is a huge underdog in this one, as they should be because no one on this team has the ability to put fear on opposing defenses, or goalkeepers alike.

The handicap line is the only way to produce some type of profit here, since the -205 line is simply out of range for most people who understand the importance of Return on Investment.

Prediction:

The -1 on the home side goes in as our recommendation, as the Galaxy should be able to easily get by the Quakes with the roster we see in San Jose.

A reasonable -115 is more than acceptable to us and we hope it is worthy of the action, so lay the handicap -1 on the Galaxy, and if they can only manage a one goal victory, so be it. A push on the action would not be the worst thing to happen.
